Charlie, Head of Kiln Maintenance

Cone 10 is the studio practice of Richard W. Schwartz. Richard has been designing and creating ceramic items in Philadelphia since 2018. His background and history with clay and various art techniques are extensive and he holds an M.FA. in ceramics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Richard was a work-study at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, an art teacher in New England, worked at the Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and Lasell College. Artist-in-residence at Watershed Center for ceramic arts in Newcastle, ME. 

Craving more time for his own work and reconnection with family, he relocated to Philadelphia. He currently operates his studio in the Maken North community.
